A note from our founder
I started Comfort Ride Transportation to give back. For 38 years I walked around with a broken neck in four places and a spinal cord that had collapsed to 20%. The doctors called me a walking miracle. When they finally put me back together with platinum plates, screws, and spacers to reopen my spinal cord, they couldn’t explain how I had played semi-pro soccer for two years after my accident.
The accident itself came when I was pushed off a dock. I lay on the bottom paralyzed, knowing I was about to die. I was pulled out, driven home, and slowly the feeling came back. I believe I was saved because there was too much left for me to do — and I felt I needed to start a company that helps people every day to repay a life I shouldn’t have had.
That is the spirit our whole team carries on every ride.
We were hired to get a liver transplant patient to emergency surgery out of town. We rescheduled our staff to be available on a minute’s notice and got them there just in time to save their life. That is the kind of work that reminds us why we do this.
Our dialysis patients need much love and patience — they are going through so much. The treatment centers we serve recommend us specifically because of how caring and patient our drivers are with the people in their care, week after week, year after year.

We operate on a sophisticated dispatch system managed by our Dispatch Team, with a time cushion built into every ride to absorb any Central Florida traffic or summer weather surprises. That is how we make sure passengers — including dialysis patients and other recurring clients — are never late for the appointments that matter most.
Wheelchair, stretcher, and ambulatory clients must be secured and loaded under ADA guidelines at all times. A standard taxi or rideshare provides only a seat belt. Our ADA-compliant vans use 4-point securement, Braun hydraulic lifts, and drivers who are trained to safely board and secure every passenger. Caregivers and up to four family members can ride along at no extra charge.
We treat every passenger like family. Our vehicles are inspected daily for safety and cleanliness, our drivers are CPR-certified with AED and First Aid kits on board, and we stay in touch with adult children and caregivers by cell phone 24/7 so the family always knows their loved one is in good hands.
Our founder survived a near-fatal accident that left him paralyzed on a dock, and lived for nearly four decades with a broken neck in four places. He started this company to repay a life he believes he shouldn’t have had — by giving people who can’t drive themselves a safe, dignified, and reliable way to get where they need to go.
